Formation in the Faith

"I am so grateful to have a place like Magdalen College...In my mind the most important two years of schooling are the first two years of college, when students are on their own for the first time in their lives. Students can be in a place where prayer and intellectual fervor are the norm is so essential to formation in the Faith at Magdalen College. They experience the Christian faith, and, thankfully, they take it with them into their vocations, occupations, parishes, and communities."

Foundation for life

"When I left Magdalen, I did not know what I was going to do for a living...but I left knowing that my whole life was going to be an adventure of learning more and being more as a person – intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and morally. That was more important than any profession, job, or paycheck.

"Had you told me the day I graduated from Magdalen that I would end up living in Europe and learning German and Spanish, I would have told you that you were crazy. Now I look back and see all of those experiences as gifts from God, and I realize that Magdalen is one of those gifts from God. It gave me a foundation to build the rest of my life upon. A sense of service

"My years at Magdalen College laid the groundwork for me to live out the meaning of the dignity of the human person. Her education embodied the teaching of Gaudium et Spes. There is such a large need for the next generation to become aware of their sense of service in Christ. One of the best places I learned this was at Magdalen College."

In my four years at the College, there was never a day that passed by where I didn‘t hear the Truth – whether it was in the classroom talking about a reading, in a daily homily given by Father, or around the dining room table listening to other students share what they had learned that day.
