Spiritual Life

Magdalen College helps its students grow in the spiritual life by providing regular access to the sacraments and frequent opportunities for prayer.
The Mass
The Eucharistic Sacrifice is offered daily in Our Lady, Queen of Apostles Chapel. Daily the Mass is enriched with the singing of the students and faculty. On special feast days, small groups of students will prepare ensemble music to offer as mediations during communion.
Holy Days of Obligation are observed campus-wide. The administration offices are closed and classes are suspended so that the entire community can celebrate together. On the Feast of Christ the King the College Choir often sings for the Mass at the local cathedral. On the Feast of Corpus Christi, there is a procession of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the campus. On May 1, the College honors Our Lady with a procession to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Shrine where she is crowned. Feast days are celebrated in the dorms with songs, skits, and special prayers.
Eucharistic Adoration
Eucharistic adoration in the Our Lady Queen of Apostles Chapel is available every afternoon from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
The Rosary
The Rosary is prayed in the evenings in each of the dorms. There is a chapel in each dorm in which Christ resides throughout the academic year. The chapel is open 24 hours a day for adoration.
